Malaysia national futsal team, Their chances of qualifying for the semifinals are running out after losing to Indonesia with a score of 1-5 in the AFF Futsal Championship 2022 group stage, Group B at Indoor Stadium Huamark, Bangkok.
Indonesia started the action with energy when they pushed the national squad through a close-range shot by Holypaul Septinus Soumilena.
However, Syawal Sabaruddin was given the responsibility of controlling the national squad’s goal to quickly prevent the Indonesian Pro Futsal League’s top scorer’s attempt.
Malaysia’s then performed better when they got two best chances through Saiful Nizam Mohd Ali and Khairul Effendy Bahrin, but Indonesian goalkeeper Muhammad Albagir was more than willing to deny the effort.
Syawal continued to act brilliantly when he denied the dangerous threat given by Dewa Rizki Amanda and Soumilena in area D within two minutes.
As the match got more interesting to watch, Khairul Effendy missed two of his best chances to put the futsal squad in front after his shot was parried by Albagir in the 13th minute while his attempt a minute later just landed on the goal post.
The position finally changed in the 21st minute when Soumilena who managed to get past Abu Haniffa Hassan’s control fired a shot and beat Syawal to put Indonesia ahead.
The advantage, however, was only able to last for a minute after Ridzwan Bakri, who was not controlled by the opposing players, easily pushed the ball in as a result of a quality cross by Saiful Nizam.
As the situation became more critical, Indonesia used the opportunity to follow up the corner kick situation when two goals were successfully blasted through Firman Adriansyah in the 29th minute and Soumilena in the 35th minute.
Malaysia, who were under pressure to get a goal, were punished with two more goals by Ardiansyah Nur, thus awarding a meaningful victory to Muhammad Hashemzadeh’s squad.
