Terengganu FC, a club from Malaysia, still secured second rank in the group after tying with Central Coast Mariners, a club from Australia, scoring 1-1 in the AFC Cup 2023/24 Group stage, Group G at Central Coast Stadium, Gosford.
Although the Central Coast Mariners were seen to push more from the beginning of the match, the dullness of the attacking machine saw the first half end without a goal.
On the other hand, Terengganu who rarely attack managed to open the scoring curtain in the 53rd minute after Engku Nur Shakir headed in Sony Norde’s corner kick.
Central Coast Mariners redoubled their efforts to find an equalizer and their efforts finally paid off when Miguel Di Pizio headed home Christian Theoharous’s cross in the 87th minute.
The result saw Central Coast Mariners remain in the lead in Group G with 10 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Terengganu.
