Al Hilal, a club from Saudi Arabia from Asia passed to Semi-final after beaten Wydad AC, a club from Morocco and host of the tournament by Penalties shoot-out with a score of 5-3 after tied in 120 minutes 1-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup 2022, Round 2 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.
The first half witnessed an advantage for the Wydad club team, which threatened the goal of Al-Hilal Club on more than one opportunity, but Abdullah Al-Mayouf, Al-Zaeem’s goalkeeper, shone on more than one occasion.
The Wydad club started the second half with great attacking pressure, as the Cameroonian singled out the uniform of the Wydad striker, Maouf, to dodge him and hit the ball, but it passed outside the goal.
Wydad was able to translate his danger in the 52nd minute, after a corner kick played by defender Ayoub Al-Alamud, into the net of Abdullah Al-Mayouf, who failed to confront it.
Al-Hilal equalized in the fourth minute of calculated time instead of losing, by means of a penalty kick awarded by the match referee, which was passed by midfielder Mohamed Kno to the left of the Wydad goalkeeper.
The original and extra time ended in a positive draw with a goal for the same, so that a penalty shootout was decided, to know the qualifier for the semi-finals.
Musa Mariga, Saleh Al-Shehri, Abdullah Al-Hamdan and Musaab Al-Juwair scored for Al-Hilal, while Yahya Atiyatallah wasted for Wydad, while Ayoub Al-Amoud, Muhammad Onajem and Al-Daoudi scored.
Al-Hilal club will play against the Brazilian team Flamengo in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, next Tuesday evening, to determine the qualifier for the final match.
