Kogileswaran Raj, a midfielder Malaysia national team move to join Chungbuk Cheongju in the K2 League second tier league of Korea Republic after left from PJ City at end of the last season.
Kogi also became the second player from the Southeast Asian region in the K2 competition where previously the leader of the Indonesian national team, Asnawi Bahar played with Ansan Greeners and first Malaysian player in Korea Republic League.
Previously, Kogi was linked with the Singaporean club, Tampines Rovers, but the Korean League was his chosen destination because it was more competitive and had the opportunity to learn about the quality of the game.
Last season, Chungbuk played in the third division where they finished 14th out of 16 competing teams. For the 2023 season, the club will play in the K2 competition with another club, Cheonan City after being granted a club licensing to turn into a professional club and follow the standards.
In the K2 League competition, of the 2023 season have 13 teams will play each other three times for a season in which the total number of matches is 36 matches and will start at the end of February with the competition ending at the beginning of December and will be a longer season than the previous year.
