Jorge Martin, the reigning 2024 MotoGP World Champion from Aprilia Racing, faces a challenging start to the 2025 season after being forced to miss the opening round, the PT Grand Prix of Thailand, due to multiple injuries.
The Spanish rider took to his personal fan page to express his disappointment and determination after a highside crash during training added four new fractures to the three he had already sustained from a previous incident in Sepang.
“The blows are always hard, but when they hit repeatedly, the impact multiplies,” Martin shared.
“This time, they were particularly strong, both physically and mentally, and for the first time in my life, I miss the opening race of the season.”
Despite the setback, Martin remains focused on recovery, stating that his primary goal is to regain full fitness and return to racing.
“I don’t know if this will make me stronger, but I do know I’ll pull through like I always have,” he said.
The absence of the reigning champion leaves a significant gap on the grid, with Aprilia Racing losing a key contender in the season opener. However, Martin’s fighting spirit and unwavering passion for the sport suggest he will be back stronger.
