All clubs in Liga Super Malaysia need to send financial documents before this Tuesday for the first process of Financial Fair Play (FFP) implementation of the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
Malaysian Football League(MFL) have implementation briefing about Financial Fair Play(FFP) involved the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Financial Officer of the clubs in Liga Super Malaysia via online and for the second briefing this was done physically with the Financial Officer of all the teams.
After the first briefing of the Malaysian Football League (MFL) Financial Fair Play (FFP) Edition 2024-2025 was held on 25 April 2024, the MFL FFP Unit organized another FFP workshop on 10 July 2024 to give more understanding of its implementation to all of the clubs in Liga Super Malaysia.
The FFP MFL unit has also visited several Super League clubs since the beginning of June to conduct proactive financial audits.
For the first process of implementing FFP MFL this season, all Super League clubs need to send financial documents before 16 July 2024 for the purpose of review by the FFP MFL Unit to be sent to FFP FIB.
If there are clubs that fail to comply with the rules set then the FFP FIB can take action based on the FFP MFL Rules 2024-2025 Edition which was given to all clubs on 15 April 2024.
At the workshop held on 10 July 2024, the Chairman of the First Instance Body (FIB) Committee, Tuan Sheikh Mohd Nasir Sheikh Mohd Sharif gave an explanation regarding the objective of establishing the MFL’s FFP Regulations in providing a positive impact on the financial control of Malaysian League clubs.
The workshop then continued with the presentation of ‘MFL Football Clubs’ 3 years of Financial Report Statistics’ before Ms Poovarni Rajagopal gave an explanation on ‘Introduction of E-Invoicing’.
Participants were also given information on financial management by the Chief Executive Officer, Penang FC, Mr. Jeffrey Chew Gim Eam through the topic ‘Football Club Financial Management Overview’ followed by a briefing by the Head of MFL’s FFP Unit, Mr. Vijash Naidu spoke about ‘Overview MFL FFP Regulations Cycle 2024/25’.
