Faisal Halim, a midfielder on Malaysia’s national team, has been nominated as the ‘best goal of the tournament’ in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 by Asian Football Confederation(AFC).
Faisal made a fantastic goal in the match tied by Korea Republic 3-3 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Group Stage, Group E.
“Malaysia found themselves trailing 1-0 at the break against the Koreans but came out a much more determined side in the second half and their efforts were duly rewarded. Darren Lok pressed to win the ball back with Faisal Halim twisting and turning and, just when it looked like the chance had gone, the winger delivered a world-class finish when he managed to find a space between Kim Min-jae and Jo Hyeon-woo to draw the Harimau Malaya level.” AFC mentioned to Faisal.
