Udon United and Samutsakhon City, 2 clubs from Thai League 3(3rd tier league), clinched the spot of semi-finalist in the Chang FA Cup 2023/24 season.
Udon United, the club from Thai League 3 in Northeast Zone, played in the quarter-final round today at National Sports University Stadium(Udonthani Campus), their home venue, against Chonburi FC, a club from the Thai League and tied 1-1 in 120 minutes before winning in the penalties shoot-out 5-3.
Samutskhon City, the club from Thai League 3 in Bangkok-Perimeter Zone, played in the quarter-final round today at National Sports University Stadium(Samutsakhon Campus), their home venue, against Bangkok FC, a club from the Thai League 3 in Bangkok-Perimeter Zone also and tied 3-3 in 120 minutes before winning in the penalties shoot-out 3-2.
Udon United and Samutsakhon City are the second and third clubs from the lower-tier league in the history of the Chang FA Cup semi-final. The first club from the lower-tier league was JL Chiangmai United(Chiangmai United) in the 2017 season.
Draw event for match in semi-final will be held in 11 April 2024 on 3pm(Malaysian time)
