Selangor FC has taken a bold step forward in its bid to challenge for the Liga Super Malaysia title in the 2025/26 season by securing the signature of former Nottingham Forest winger Zach Clough as its newest import player.
In an official announcement released earlier today, Selangor FC expressed high hopes that the Manchester-born Clough will bring valuable experience from his time in England and Australia to elevate the team’s performance in the upcoming campaign.
“Selangor FC is proud to officially unveil our fifth new signing of this transfer window. Clough previously played for Bolton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest, and Wigan Athletic before making a move to Australia, where he featured for Adelaide United,” the statement read.
The Red Giants, under the leadership of Japanese head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi, have just returned from a pre-season tour in Thailand as preparations intensify ahead of the new season.
The arrival of the 30-year-old attacking midfielder is expected to significantly strengthen Selangor’s midfield unit, especially as they gear up for their season-opening showdown against defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the Piala Sumbangsih clash on August 8.
