Yusri Che Lah, head coach of Perak FC was all smiles after his team delivered a scintillating 7-0 victory over Kelantan Darul Naim in a Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium MPM, Manjung, last night.
Clayton Da Silva stole the show with four goals, while captain Luciano Guaycochea, Adilet Kanybekov, and Tommy Mawat Bada each contributed to the emphatic win, propelling Perak FC to fifth place in the league standings with 22 points.
Yusri expressed his satisfaction with his squad’s dominant performance, emphasizing the players’ efficiency in capitalizing on scoring opportunities.
“Congratulations to the players for taking their chances and maintaining a clean sheet while adding more goals to our tally,” said Yusri.
He urged the team to sustain their momentum as they approach the critical final stages of the season. “I hope the players can maintain this winning form because tougher matches lie ahead,” he added.
Yusri stressed the importance of staying focused as Perak prepares for their next match against Kuching City on February 7 at the State Stadium in Kuching. This will be followed by a clash against league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim on February 27.
“We’re nearing the end of the league, and every minute on the pitch matters. The players must seize every opportunity to help the team secure maximum points,” Yusri said, urging the squad to build on their performance step by step.
On the other hand, KDN’s assistant head coach, Rezal Zambery Yahya, acknowledged his team’s challenges and commended the players for their commitment despite unfavorable circumstances.
“I want to thank the players for their dedication, especially since we only had a brief meeting before the match,” said Rezal.
He admitted that the lack of regular training and preparation hindered the team’s performance. “We’ve been out of sync for some time, and facing a strong team like Perak made it even harder. Although we created a few chances, it just wasn’t our night,” he explained.
