The match saw BGPU quickly deplete their substitution quota when Sanchai Nonthasila suffered a muscle injury, leading to his replacement by Warinthorn Jumnongwat early in the first half.
In the 31st minute, BGPU took the lead through a swift counter-attack. Shinnapat Lee-Oh delivered a precise pass to Raniel Santana, who calmly slotted the ball into the center of the net, giving BGPU a 1-0 advantage.
The remainder of the first half saw no additional goals, and BGPU went into halftime holding their narrow lead.
Preah Khan Reach, however, came out strong in the second half, ramping up their attacking play. Their efforts paid off in the 61st minute when Nick Taylor broke down the wing and set up Pablo, who found the back of the net with a near-post strike, leveling the score at 1-1.
But BGPU responded almost immediately. Just two minutes later, in the 63rd minute, Chanathip Songkrasin delivered a pinpoint pass into the box, where veteran striker Teerasil Dangda charged in to finish from close range, restoring BGPU’s lead at 2-1.
Both teams had opportunities to add to the scoreline in the remaining minutes, but neither could capitalize, leaving BGPU to emerge as 2-1 winners.
