The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has officially announced the postponement of the ASEAN Club Championship or ‘Shopee Cup’ 2025/26 match between Svay Rieng FC and Bangkok United.
The fixture was originally scheduled to take place on January 29, 2026, at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. However, following a review by the AFF, a decision was made to delay the match.
Previously, Bangkok United had requested the AFF to move the match to a neutral venue due to the conflict along the Thai-Cambodian border and agreed to be fined or penalized if the AFF decided not to postpone the match.
In a brief statement, the regional governing body confirmed that the game will be rescheduled, with the new match date and venue to be announced at a later time.
No further details were provided regarding the reasons behind the postponement, but both clubs have been informed of the decision and are awaiting further instructions from the AFF.
The delay will see Bangkok United and Svay Rieng FC adjust their competitive calendars as they continue preparations for the remainder of the ASEAN Club Championship campaign.
