Malaysian Moto3 sensation Hakim Danish delivered a valiant performance in front of a roaring home crowd, narrowly missing out on a podium to finish fourth (P4) in the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit on Sunday.

Despite missing the rostrum, the young rider expressed immense pride in his performance, having engaged in a fierce battle at the front of the pack from the opening lap until the checkered flag.

"I am very happy because I gave it my absolute best today. I fought from the beginning until the end of the race," Hakim said after the grueling encounter. "I really wanted the podium, but in the final corner, I tried to make a pass and overshot. I tried to give my best to put on a show for the spectators, my family, and my team."

Throughout the race, Hakim faced a significant tactical challenge in overcoming the sheer straight-line speed and high-speed cornering advantages of the rival Honda machines. Refusing to back down, he maintained his rhythm to stay firmly in the leading group, engaging in aggressive but fair battles that kept the Sepang crowd on the edge of their seats.

The P4 finish meant Hakim narrowly missed out on replicating the historic 2012 podium achievement of his mentor and ZK Racing manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin. However, Hakim revealed that his mentor was far from disappointed.

"I don't think Abang Fahmi is disappointed; I think he is happy with the effort. I tried my hardest to get on the podium today, but maybe it just wasn't my luck yet," he explained, thanking his sponsors and the thousands of Malaysians who turned up to support him.

Looking ahead, the Malaysian talent remains fiercely optimistic. With three races remaining in his calendar, including the upcoming round in Qatar, Hakim has vowed to keep his foot on the gas.

"I believe it is not impossible for me to secure a podium or even a victory. I will always keep fighting until I get there," he concluded.
