Ricardo Pires, a 37-year-old Brazilian forward, has officially joined Negeri Sembilan FC for the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 season after leaving Kasetsart FC in Thai League 2.
Pires brings a wealth of experience to the team, having played in both Indonesian League 2 with Persiraja Banda Aceh and Thai League 2 with DP Kanchanaburi FC and Kasetsart FC.
In the 2023/24 Thai League 2 season, Pires made 16 appearances, netting 8 goals, and also featured in the final of the Thai FA Cup last season. His performances have caught the attention of NSFC, who are looking to bolster their attacking options.
NSFC head coach K. Nanthakumar expressed optimism about the Brazilian’s addition to the squad, emphasizing that Pires will enhance the attacking combinations with forwards Takumi Sasaki, Hein Htet Aung, and Jacque Faye. Nanthakumar highlighted the complementary strengths of each player
“I’m sure Ricardo is capable of producing something special for the team, alongside Takumi’s creativity, Hein’s speed on the wing, and Jacque Faye’s physical presence.” K. Nanthakumar said.
The coach believes that the cooperation between the players will elevate NSFC’s performances. “Each player has their own unique strengths, and I am confident they will complement each other well on the field. This combination in the front line should bring us success.”
