Negeri Sembilan produced a dominant display at home to sweep aside PDRM FC with a resounding 5–0 victory in the first leg of the Piala FA Malaysia 2025/26 Round of 16 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
The Jangs fielded Azri Ghani between the posts, with Takumi Sasaki wearing the captain’s armband and Bosnian forward Jovan Motika spearheading the attack. PDRM, meanwhile, started with Ifwat Akmal in goal and Kyaw Min Oo as captain of The Cops.
The hosts made a blistering start, earning a free kick in the second minute after a defensive error by PDRM. Motika stepped up and curled home a brilliant strike to put Negeri Sembilan ahead.
PDRM’s hopes took another blow in the ninth minute when Noel Agbre was sent off, forcing the visitors to play with 10 men. Despite the setback, they nearly equalised through Fadi Awad in the 37th minute, but his effort went narrowly wide.
Motika doubled his tally shortly after, finishing off a slick move orchestrated by Sasaki. The hosts tightened their grip before half-time when Joseph Esso made it 3–0 in the 45th minute.
Negeri Sembilan thought they had a fourth before the break, but Sasaki’s effort was disallowed for a foul on goalkeeper Ifwat Akmal. The half ended with the home side cruising at 3–0.
The Jangs remained relentless after the restart, with Sasaki again finding the net early in the second half—only for the referee to rule it out. Despite leading comfortably, Negeri Sembilan continued to pile on the pressure while PDRM, more disciplined after the break, held firm for long spells.
Substitute Mio Tsuneyasu added his name to the scoresheet in the 74th minute, finishing neatly inside the penalty area. Esso then completed his brace in the 82nd minute to seal a crushing 5–0 win for the home side.
With a five-goal cushion, Negeri Sembilan take a commanding advantage into the return leg at Stadium Majlis Perbandaran Selayang. The Jangs will now shift focus back to their Super League campaign with a clash against Selangor, while PDRM look to regroup ahead of hosting Melaka.
