Malaysia National Team head coach Peter Cklamovski is confident that his side can find the breakthrough needed when they face Laos in the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers, highlighting that the Harimau Malaya have identified specific weaknesses in their opponents’ defence.
Malaysia, who currently top Group F with six points from two matches, are aiming to continue their perfect start as they prepare for their third fixture. The national team held their final training session ahead of the away encounter, with focus and intensity evident among the players.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Cklamovski stressed the importance of discipline and respect toward the Laos national team but insisted that Malaysia possess the right mindset to dominate the game.
“We have great respect for the Laos national team, and we have a strong mentality — one that aims to keep clean sheets,” said the Australian tactician.
He further revealed that his team has thoroughly studied Laos’ defensive structure and pinpointed several areas they plan to exploit to secure victory.
“We’ve identified certain spaces within the Laos defence that can be exploited to create scoring opportunities and earn all three points,” Cklamovski explained.
Malaysia will play Laos away in the first leg before returning home to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur for the reverse fixture on 9 and 14 October 2025.
Cklamovski’s analytical approach and attacking mindset have been key factors behind Malaysia’s strong campaign so far, and fans will be eager to see if the Harimau Malaya can maintain their momentum as they edge closer to qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
