Paolo Josue, forward of Kuala Lumpur City player has reportedly club gone unpaid for seven months since January 2024.
Paulo expressed his frustration, noting that he cannot even remember the last time he received his salary due to the prolonged period of playing without pay.
Josue revealed that his daily expenses are now covered by his savings. While some KL City players have experienced salary arrears since March, Josue’s situation is more dire, as he has not been paid since December of the previous year.
“There are KL City players who have had salary arrears since last March, but the situation is not as bad as mine because the last time they were paid was in December last year,”
According to him, he had discussed with the management of KL City to find the best solution to get out of the crisis but was only served with empty promises.
“It’s all false promises because they never paid it! Many people have been asking me for seven months (in arrears) why I’m still with KL City. I’m staying because I love the team,”
Astro Arena has sought a response from KL City’s Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Bernard, and a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to address the issue.
