Park Hang-Seo, Head coach of Vietnam national team revealed he consulted with Kim Pan-Gon, Head coach of Malaysia national team which is a compatriot for learning about Thailand national team before face in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 Final, first leg tomorrow.
“Before this AFF Cup, I had a meeting with the whole team since the draw results were announced. We have determined our goals since then and planned to do it. How to do it. The players have always said they want to get to the final and win the championship.” Hang-Seo said.
“We still have two things to do. That is to play well in the first leg, pay the debt to Thailand. Second, to close the last term with the championship, bring the trophy home as a gift to the fans. In the past 5 years, In Southeast Asia, I only lost one match, losing to the Thais in the semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2020,”
“Thailand team has many good players, that’s undisputed. The Thai team has 16 goals and 3 conceded goals. 14 goals and 0 goals. But to say that we only know defensively is not correct. We can also attack very well.”
“Regarding Thailand, their midfield also has very well coordinated groups. No. 6 and No. 11 (left), No. 5, 6, 7 (right) are very flexible. Their attack is good but not coming. The level to recruit Vietnam has to be afraid. Their attack is strong thanks to the support of No. 3 (Theerathon Bunmathan. If we can block this guy, we have nothing to fear,”
“Thailand does not have many stars. They lack Chanathip Songkrasin and the Vietnam team does not have Cong Phuong. In fact, it is not quite right to say that Vietnam is stronger than them.”
“We want to win the first leg, but we also have to calculate the personnel for this match when the Vietnamese team has up to 4 players with yellow cards,”
“If I say that the Vietnamese team has a problem, I think in this AFF Cup there is another team that has more problems. I don’t like to say it, but everyone knows for themselves. I hope that team should review their play. Football is a combat sport but not a place to destroy or hurt opponents.”
“My assistants, including those who directly went to Thailand to watch the semi-final second leg, have finished analyzing the opponent in the first phase. I also consulted with Mr. Kim Pan-gon about his experiences with Thailand.”
