Malaysian Women’s singles, Goh Jin Wei grabbed the first victory after winning Johanita Scholtz from South Africa in the Women’s single event of badminton at the Olympics 2024 held at Porte de La Chapelle Arena, Paris.
Despite a slow start, Jin Wei triumphed with a straight set scoring 23-21, 21-11 in 30 minutes of action.
Jin Wei will next face South Korea’s world No. 17, Kim Ga Eun, in a crucial match on Wednesday to determine the group winner. It’s a decisive encounter for both players, as only the group winner will advance to the knockout round.
