Selangor FC’s import midfielder, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, has shown remarkable discipline and resilience as he undergoes rehabilitation for an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury sustained in his left knee.
The injury, suffered during a Super League match against PDRM FC on October 19, 2024, at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, temporarily sidelined one of the Red Giants’ most influential players.
The road to recovery from an ACL injury is a long and demanding process, typically requiring 6 to 12 months of structured rehabilitation. Two months into his journey, Noor’s progress has been encouraging. Under the care of Selangor FC’s Sports Science Department, he has diligently adhered to a tailored recovery plan, focusing on strength, stability, and conditioning.
His rehabilitation has included:
- Strength Training: Focused on building muscle strength in both knees.
- Balance and Coordination Exercises: Essential for restoring stability.
- Hydrotherapy and Manual Therapy: Conducted over nine weeks to accelerate healing.
- Nutritional Guidance: Ensuring his body is optimally fueled for recovery.
The next crucial phase will see Noor begin plyometric training, designed to enhance explosive strength and running speed. This stage is vital for regaining confidence on the pitch, as football demands dynamic, multi-directional movements.
Noor, who wears the number 8 jersey, remains optimistic about his progress:
“I can feel my condition improving day by day. My muscle strength and stability are increasing, and I hope to return to full fitness and action on the field within the timeline set by the team. I believe my muscles are now stronger than before, thanks to the detailed recovery plan by the Sports Science Department.”
He acknowledges the challenges ahead as he transitions to basic jogging and running exercises but is confident in completing each phase successfully. Noor is determined to rejoin his teammates on the field and continue contributing to Selangor FC’s success.
This ACL injury marks Noor’s first long-term setback in his career, and the journey has not been without emotional hurdles. Being away from his family has been particularly tough, but Noor is grateful for the unwavering support he has received:
“Being away from my family in this situation is difficult, but the support from the club, my teammates, and those around me has kept me motivated. I am determined to come back stronger, help Selangor FC achieve success, and represent Jordan in the World Cup Qualifiers.”
