Nooa Laine, Midfielder Malaysian-Finnish heritage player described the call to train with Malaysia’s national team in preparation for the 2 International friendly matches against Turkmenistan and Hong Kong as an honor.
Currently, Laine has signed a contract to join SJK Seinajoki who plays in the Finnish Division 1 League until the 2024 season and he started his career as a player in the club JJK Jyvaskyla and made his debut in the Finnish Division 2 League at the age,15 in the 2018 season.
In addition, Laine has called to play with Finland U17 national team in 2018 and made 1 goal from 4 appearances.
“Of course I’m proud to train with the national squad for the first time and try to give my best throughout the training, even the other players who I consider like “brothers” help a lot and they often communicate with me.” Laine said.
“If there is luck I will be in the squad but I want to be an important player for Harimau Malaya in the future, after all I am only 20 years old and I need to gain experience in addition to wanting to be consistent in training sessions.”
“I also want to show the value that I have in myself and from there I will help the national team and at the moment I am still adapting to the Malayan Tigers’ style of play,”
Asked if he did any research on the level of football in this country, Laine admitted that he was not very familiar with the style of the game as he had no experience of playing in any team that played in the Malaysian League.
“There is no denying that during the training, I noticed that the players who were with me in the training session looked good and great but the style of play is quite different from that in Finland which is more technical compared to here the style of play is more ‘straight forward’
“Regardless, I have to adapt to the tactical and technical pattern that will be applied by the coach and also have to quickly recognize the playing style of other friends,”
