Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) manager Miroslav Kuljanac is confident his team can maintain their winning momentum in the third match of Group B in the Shopee Cup 2024/25.
They will face Lion City Sailors at the Jalan Besar Stadium this Thursday, January 9, at 7:45 PM.
After securing two victories in their opening group matches, KL City heads into this clash with high morale. Meanwhile, Lion City Sailors, backed by their home crowd, will aim to recover after suffering two consecutive defeats.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Kuljanac revealed that he has closely analyzed the playing style of Lion City Sailors. He anticipates an aggressive approach from the hosts, who are known for their attacking style.
“I have analyzed the Lion City Sailors team and the way they play. They haven’t changed much in their approach. I’m sure they will come at us with their usual attacking mindset,” Kuljanac said.
Despite being without key players Brendan Gan and Jovan Motika, Kuljanac expressed confidence in his squad’s depth. He believes that the substitutes are more than capable of stepping up and delivering strong performances.
“It won’t be easy without them (Gan and Motika), but even if they’re not with us, we’ll do our best. The substitutes are ready to prove their abilities, and I hope those who step in are 100% ready to fight and earn points,” he added.
