Malaysian Football League (MFL) has announcement regarding the re-opening of extraordinary license applications for all clubs from Liga M3 in Amateur Football League (AFL) for club have purpose to play in Liga Super Malaysia season 2024/25.
This move comes in response to the rejection of Kelantan FC’s application for a National License to participate in the Liga Super Malaysia season 2024/25 by the First Instance Body (FIB) and the MFL Club Licensing Appeals Committee (AB).
The decision to reopen the extraordinary license application process is based on Articles 4.5, 4.6, and Annexe III of the MFL Club Licensing Regulations. With Kelantan FC’s absence leaving the 14th slot vacant in the Super League competition, the MFL is inviting interested M3 AFL clubs to submit their applications.
The application process is scheduled to start on 18 January 2024, with the submission of all required documents through AFC CLAS from 19 January 2024, to 2 February 2024, as outlined in the official statement by MFL.
The criteria requirements for filling this Liga Super Malaysia slot remain consistent with the Liga M3 AFL extraordinary application criteria, covering aspects such as infrastructure, personnel & administration, sports, legal, finance, and business, as specified in the MFL Club Licensing Regulations 2023 Edition.
However, MFL will select only the best club that meets the set criteria to fill the 14th slot after the absence of Kelantan FC.
