From the list of 24 players above, Maloney will announce the final list of 20 players to be registered for the 2021 SEA Games on Friday 6 May 2022, which is a day before the Group B competition begins.
Meanwhile, the four players who are not in the final list of 20 players will continue to remain in Hanoi as a Ready List to replace any players who had to be dropped if tested positive for COVID-19 during the 2021 SEA Games.
For the Group B competition at the 2021 SEA Games, Malaysia will start the campaign against Thailand on 7 May, Laos on 11 May, Singapore on 14 May and Cambodia on 16 May 2022, with all group matches scheduled to take place at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh.
Meanwhile, the Group A competition lined up by the hosts who are also the defending champions, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Timor-Leste is scheduled to take place at the Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho.
The top two teams of each next group will qualify for the semi-finals on May 19 at Thien Truong Stadium and Viet Tri Stadium while the bronze medal match and Final are scheduled to take place on May 22, 2022 at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi.
