Sri Pahang FC played in heavy rain before tying Johor Darul Ta’Zim champions in this season with a score of 0-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Darul Makmur Stadium, Kuantan.
The action that was delayed for 95 minutes clearly affected the pace of the game for both teams which should have started at 9pm.
However, the match only started at 10.35pm, after being satisfied with the condition of the pitch.
In the match, JDT only had one dangerous attempt in the first half through Fernando Martin but the import striker’s kick was saved by home goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa in the 26th minute.
After that, the ball hovered more in the middle of the field and both teams played cautiously.
Playing in the rain and the condition of the rickshaw field apparently affected the pace of the game until they failed to score against each other’s goal.
Continuing the second half, JDT tested the defense of the Pahang more, who had to work hard to save the situation.
In the 51st minute, Martin almost scored the lead for JDT but the kick ball was successfully headed out by the defender, Sherzod Fayziew.
The home team also tried to break through the opponent’s defense but were easily blocked and both teams finally conceded when collecting a point after a goalless draw throughout the 90 minutes of the match.
