Penang and Melaka United are still looking for a winning streak in the Super League when they had to agree to share points at the Bandaraya Stadium, Pulau Pinang.
The two teams, who lost narrowly 0-1 in the opening match last weekend, saw Penang first dominate the start of the competition.
The situation led to Penang’s exciting opening goal which was completed by Danial Ashraf Abdullah after receiving a pass in the 27th minute.
However, it did not block the equalizer in the 41st minute because the captain of the Harimau Kumbang team, Latiff Suhaimi, stuck the ball into his own net while trying to break a corner kick.
However, a different script was featured in Melaka which increasingly arranged the situation in the second half, especially after three changes made by the hosts.
Imported player from Lebanon, Hilal El-Helwe, had a chance to put Melaka in front but his last effort failed to penetrate the opponent’s goal controlled by Khatul Anuar Jalil due to releasing a less energetic kick.
However, the remaining 30 minutes of the match were not so exciting as both teams were featured in the finishing aspect to have to be satisfied with the first half goal.
