Johor Darul Ta’Zim still saves a record wins 9 matches consecutive after winning PDRM FC with a score of 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
The defensive tactics applied by ‘The Cops’ squad yielded results after they successfully restrained the visitors who held more than 80 percent of the possession throughout the first half.
JDT’s two chances through Jordi Amat in the 12th minute soared high before Leandro Velazquez’s strong shot in the 18th minute was saved by goalkeeper Nor Hakeem Hamidun.
Aliff Najmi Shaaini’s mistake in the 19th minute almost punished JDT but he made up for it when he managed to block Afiq Fazail’s pass in front of the home goal.
Nor Hakeem Hamidun continued to excel when he read Bergson da Silva’s penalty kick in the 43rd minute thus keeping the two teams tied goalless after the first 45 minutes.
Continuing the second half, the action ‘on the side of the field’ continued for JDT who tried from all angles and their hard work paid off when Fernando Forestieri scored the winning goal in the 61st minute.
Trailing by one goal, PDRM FC continued to face difficulties when they lost a player after Kyaw Min Oo was shown a second yellow card in the 74th minute.
Match ended, Johor Darul Ta’Zim take victory by a score of 1-0 and allowed to hold a five-point advantage over the second-placed team, Selangor FC after nine games.
