Johor Darul Ta’Zim earned another 3 points and secured the top position after beating Negeri Sembilan FC scoring 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
The Southern Tigers, who are now 10-time league champions, displayed their superiority from the start, asserting control over a struggling Negeri Sembilan side that sits at the bottom of the table. Playing on home soil was not enough for Negeri Sembilan to stave off JDT’s relentless attacks.
JDT took the lead early, with Heberty Andrade opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a well-placed free kick from outside the box. Just six minutes later, Heberty struck again from 27 meters out, doubling JDT’s advantage and putting Negeri Sembilan on the back foot.
Negeri Sembilan struggled to penetrate JDT’s defenses, managing only two attacks through Takumi Suzuki and Mohamad Ikhwan Yazek in the first half, neither of which threatened JDT’s goal.
The Southern Tigers continued their dominance in the second half. Just three minutes in, Arif Aiman Mohd Hanafi found the back of the net following a skillful one-two exchange with Romel Morales amid a chaotic scramble in the penalty area, bringing JDT’s tally to three.
In the 90th minute, substitute Jorge Obregon Rojas capped off the game by converting a penalty after Negeri Sembilan’s Muhammad Harith Samsuri was penalized for a handball in the box.
The win not only bolsters JDT’s lead at the top of the table but also highlights their continued ambition for Liga Super supremacy.
