Perak FC, club in Liga Premier Malaysia announced appointing Lim Teong Kim as a new head coach with a 2 years contract from season 2023 onwards.
Teong Kim has had 12 years coaching experience with 10 times Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich U19 team and coached the likes of superstars Thomas Muller, David Alaba, Toni Kroos & Emre Can. His curriculum vitae (CV) also includes stints at Bologna FC, handling talents like Nicola Sansone and Roberto Soriano.
Locally, he once helmed the position of Project Director of National Football Development Programme in 2013 and later in 2016, was appointed the Director of Mokhtar Dahari Academy.
Perak FC Chairman Dato’ Seri Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi said it is high time to restructure the team after the continuous streak of losses in the last three Premier League games.
“Perak FC had to undergo a period of transition, and we have now had that. There are no more excuses for next season as we have enough time and a marquee coach added on our roster,” said by Dato’ Seri Azim.
“Our main aim is to stabilize the ship, to maintain our competitive status with the careful recruitment of a new squad. Mr. Lim’s input at grassroots management and handling of youth players will be crucial to Perak FC in building a sustainable pipeline of the title contending teams,” he added.
The board of directors wishes to thank current head coach Yusri Che Lah for all his effort and hard work throughout his stint with the team. Yusri will be given a new developmental role with the U23 squad next season as Teong Kim assumes his new role immediately after the game with Kuching City FC in Stadium Perak on the 17th of September 2022, at 9pm, with the handover process finalizing in time for pre-season.
