Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on the 7th that Ulsan Hyundai coach Hong Myung-Bo has been appointed as the new head coach of Korea Republic national team.
Korea Republic national team still has no head coach acting since February 2024 after the termination of Jurgen Klinsmann, German head coach after ended of the AFC Asian Cup 2023, and the appointed caretaker head coach as Hwang Sung-Hong in March and Kim Do-Hoon in June.
According to Yonhap, the KFA will hold a briefing on the appointment on the morning of 8 July at their headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The session will be chaired by Technical Director Lee Im-saeng.
Hong Myung-Bo, who previously led the Korea Republic national team from 2013 to 2014 and guided them during the FIFA World Cup 2014, returns to the role after a decade.
