Football Association of Malaysia(FAM) has issued an official statement denying news that Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia’s national team is resigning and confirmed will remain until the end of their contract in 2025.
Pan-Gon went on to explain that he did not send any letter to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) stating that he wanted to leave the Malaysia national team.
“I would like to deny the news report published on the BH Online portal at 7:57pm tonight stating that I sent a letter to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) regarding my intention to leave the Harimau Malaya squad.” Pan-Gon said via FAM official statement.
“The statement in the news article quoted from the source is completely inaccurate because I did not send any letter regarding the matter.”
“After reading the news article, I immediately contacted FAM President, Datuk Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin to explain this matter and I personally assured him that my mission with the Harimau Malaya squad is not over and I will not leave this team just like that.”
“For the information of all Harimau Malaya fans, I am committed to guiding the Harimau Malaya squad until my contract expires at the end of 2025, with the main mission of qualifying for the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers which confirms automatic qualification to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.”
