Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team insists that they will continue to pounce on their opponents in a mission to hunt for victory in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 Semi-Final, first leg tomorrow to supply the second match on Tuesday.
“We know Thailand’s ranking is higher than us and they were also champions in the last edition. So we have to respect them by giving our best performance and using our strongest squad.” Pan-Gon said in Pre-Match Press conference.
“So, we will stay with our DNA, game style, and character so that we can give our best to make the fans who come to the stadium proud.”
“The players seem to be very excited and highly motivated for tomorrow night’s action. So we will use the advantage we have the presence of supporters as best we can,”
For the record, the last meeting between the two teams saw Malaysia humiliate Thailand at home when they advanced to the final of the 2022 Thailand King’s Cup as a result of a 5-3 victory through a penalty kick after a 1-1 draw at the Chiang Mai Stadium last September.
At the same time, Pan Gon refused to think too much about the opposing team because it is more important to ensure that his team is fully prepared to face Thailand for the first half action.
“Thailand is not a weak team and traditionally they are a good attacking team. Their players have good individual skills, so we have to use the appropriate approach.
“We give all the information available to the players and they can adapt quickly. Although the squad this time is quite different compared to before, there is no problem because we have a plan to implement,”
