Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of the Malaysia national team, think it would be suitable for Malaysia if they could win at least one point in a match against the Oman national team in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 tomorrow.
Malaysia just lost to Oman 0-2 in matchday 3 in last Thursday, and down to 3rd rank of the group D.
In addition, Pan-gon wants his line of players to use the advantage of playing on their home court to achieve a positive result against Oman tomorrow night.
“If you get one point against a team ranked 80th in the world, that’s good because we still have two games left. If you get three points (against Oman) it’s amazing.” Pan-Gon said.
“Oman are a good team, better than us and for sure they will continue to play aggressively. They are a high-ranking team and probably want to take top spot in the group.”
“For us, what is important is action at home and we will provide the best possible resistance. We hope that tomorrow we will give you an interesting match,”
FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2, Group D Matchday 4 between Malaysia vs Oman will be played on 26 March 2024 at 10.00 pm. at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
