Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team believe players can make ‘big win’ in match against Chinese Taipei national team in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 tomorrow.
Malaysia needs at least 8 goals in a match against Chinese Taipei and needs Kyrgyz Republic to lose to Oman for hope to advance to round 3 for the first time in history.
However, Pan-Gon explained that any team that faces Malaysia at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil will face a difficult task, especially when faced with Malaysia fans.
“It’s certain that all coaches come here to win, it’s normal. They can’t say they come here to draw or lose. However, the reality is they face a difficult task.” Pan-gon said in pre-match press conference at Wisma FAM today.
“Whoever comes here is not easy. The opposing team faces difficulties in Bukit Jalil because we have supporters, Ultras Malaya and a great atmosphere there.”
“Action at home, we have good results especially when the opponent is a lower ranking team and we also get a good goal rate,”
“We need to win first (against Taiwan) and score many goals. After that, we will see the results for Oman and Kyrgyzstan. I believe Oman is a better team than Kyrgyzstan, so they can win at home,”
