Kelantan FA, emerged champions after beating Nilai City SC scoring 6-1 in the MPFL2 2024 at Arena Futsal FAM, Kelana Jaya.
In the recent match, Kelantan wasted no time as Luqman Yaakob Tan opened the scoring as early as the second minute. Luqman added a second goal nine minutes later, and Aqil Khalid Adli Khairuz further strengthened their position with a goal in the 14th minute.
Aqim Salihuddin made it 4-0 in the 19th minute, and Luqman completed his hat-trick a minute later.
Entering the second half, Kelantan continued their dominance with a goal from Izzat Aqiyudin Ramli in the 32nd minute. Nilai City’s consolation goal came from Ridwan Awaebuesa, a Thai player and the tournament’s top scorer so far.
This victory marked Kelantan’s ninth consecutive win, and they are now focused on finishing the league campaign with a 100 percent win record in the remaining two games.
Kelantan currently leads the table with 27 points, followed by Kedah and ATM, both with 15 points, while Nilai City SC has 14 points.
As division 2 champions, Kelantan will face one of the bottom two teams in Division 1 to secure a slot in the Malaysia Futsal Cup 2024. Currently, the two teams at the bottom of MPFL Division 1 are Terengganu and KL City.
