Kedah Darul Aman has deducted 3 points for the Liga Super Malaysia season 2024/25 and fined RM50,000 after being sanctioned by the First Instance Body Committee (FIB) of the Malaysian Football League(MFL) due to failing to make full payment of salary arrears for the year 2023.

KDA FC was given time to settle the entire salary arrears on 30 March 2024 but after that deadline, the club failed to comply with the conditions set by the FIB.

FIB took note of the letter from KDA FC dated 28 March 2024 regarding the settlement of 50% of the total salary arrears for the year 2023, as well as the agreement letter for scheduling the payment of the remaining salary arrears signed by 75% of the players and officials involved dated 29 March 2024.

However, it still does not comply with the rules has been determined which is the full payment of salary arrears for the year 2023.

As such, the KDA FC team was subject to a three-point deduction for the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 season as well as a fine of RM 50,000 with immediate effect yesterday, Thursday, 4 April 2024, based on the MFL Club Licensing Regulations 2023 Edition “Article 2.4 (c) Licensing Sanctions”.

However, if KDA FC fails to make full payment of salary arrears for the year 2023 or submit proof of financial documents to complete the payment by 20 April 2024 at 5.00 pm, then KDA FC’s National License may be revoked. The club will not be eligible to compete in the Liga Super Malaysia for the 2024/25 season.

Meanwhile, the FIB confirmed that the Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) club has successfully completed the payment of salary arrears for the year 2023 before the deadline of March 30, 2024.
