Johor Darul Ta’Zim made their first victory in the pre-season after beated Lokomotiv Moscow, a club from Russian Premier League with a score of 1-0 at JA Shooting Club, Dubai.
In this match, JDT fielded the best line-up in the main line-up including Bergson, Fernando Forestieri and Arif Aiman in the attack.
While Afiq Fazail, Juan Muniz, and Hong Wan play in the middle. JDT’s new manager, Esteban Solari, also brought down Syihan Hazmi as a goalkeeper while being assisted by a defensive line such as Jordi Amat, Feroz Baharudin, Matthew Davies and Oscar Arribas.
The first half ended in a goalless result as both teams played quite cautiously to avoid any easy mistakes.
Bergson had a chance to score the first goal from a free kick but his shot went wide. Not many dangerous attempts were made as Foriestieri and Arif Aiman were tightly controlled.
In fact, JDT’s defense line also excelled in reading every movement of the opponent’s attackers and managed to ensure that the goal was not easily conceded until the end of the first half.
Entering the second half, JDT rose more fiercely and managed to score the opening goal through Arif Aiman’s shot in the 56th minute.
The goal resulted from a counterattack and Forestieri’s pass was successfully finished by Arif Aiman who made a solo run to deceive the defense of Lokomotiv Moscow.
In the 73rd minute, Nazmi Faiz almost scored JDT’s second goal but his attempt was successfully deflected by the goalkeeper of Lokomotiv Moscow.
The opposing team was also stuck looking for an equalizer because JDT’s defensive line was disciplined enough to block their every move. The result remained 1-0 until the end of the match.
