Malaysia’s professional men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani kept the Jalur Gemilang flying at the Indonesia Open 2026 after storming into the semi-finals with an emphatic victory over India’s Hariharan Amsakarunan and M. R. Arjun at the iconic Istora Senayan.
The world No. 8 Malaysians required just 32 minutes to dispatch the Indian duo 21-12, 21-10, producing one of their most commanding performances of the season.
From the opening rally, Sze Fei and Izzuddin looked determined to stamp their authority on the contest.
Their aggressive attack, sharp defensive transitions, and relentless pace left the Indian pair struggling to find any rhythm.
The Malaysians quickly established control in the first game, dictating play at the net and capitalising on every opportunity to build a comfortable lead before closing it out 21-12.

Their recent results underline that progress. Last month, the pair reached the final of the Malaysia Masters 2026, finishing as runners-up after an impressive campaign on home soil.
They followed that achievement with a quarter-final appearance at the Singapore Open 2026, and now find themselves among the final four at one of badminton’s most prestigious tournaments.
The consistency shown over recent weeks suggests the pair are peaking at exactly the right stage of the season.
With every other Malaysian representative eliminated from the tournament, the responsibility of carrying the nation’s hopes now rests solely on the shoulders of Sze Fei and Izzuddin.
The duo have embraced that challenge superbly so far, producing mature and confident performances throughout the week.
Their progression to the semi-finals ensures Malaysian interest remains alive in Jakarta and provides fans with genuine optimism of a potential title challenge.
The challenge ahead, however, will be significantly tougher. Awaiting the Malaysians in the semi-finals will be either tournament top seeds and world No. 1 South Koreans Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae, or Taiwan’s dangerous pairing of Lee Fang-Chih and Lee Fang-Jen.
Regardless of the opponent, Sze Fei and Izzuddin know they will need to maintain the same intensity and precision that dismantled the Indian pair in the quarter-finals.
