Malaysia’s mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie–Toh Ee Wei delivered a statement performance at the DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2026, producing a stunning straight-games victory over China’s world No. 2 Jiang Zhenbang–Wei Yaxin to book their place in the final on Saturday.
Playing with supreme confidence inside the iconic Istora Senayan, the world No. 4 Malaysians were in complete control from the opening rally, sealing a commanding 21-17, 21-12 win in just 33 minutes.
The result was a powerful sense of déjà vu, as Tang Jie–Ee Wei once again proved they have the measure of the Chinese powerhouse pair, repeating their historic triumph in the World Championships final in Paris last August.
From sharp interceptions at the net to relentless pressure in the rear court, the Malaysians dictated the pace throughout, giving Jiang–Wei little room to settle or mount any meaningful resistance.
The victory also sends Tang Jie–Ee Wei into their first final of the 2025 season, underlining their growing consistency at the highest level of the World Tour.
Standing between the Malaysians and the title on Sunday (Jan 25) will be either home favourites Jafar Hidayatullah–Felisha Pasaribu or Denmark’s experienced pairing Mathias Christiansen–Alexandra Boje, who contest the second semi-final later today.
