World No. 7 women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah have etched their names in history by becoming only the second Malaysian duo to reach the women’s doubles final at the DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2025 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
In a commanding semi-final performance at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Pearly-Thinaah overcame South Korea’s world No. 146 pair, Lee Yeon-Woo and Lee Yu-Lim, with a 21-19, 21-16 victory. The match lasted 52 minutes, showcasing the Malaysians’ exceptional teamwork and composure under pressure.
The feat marks a significant milestone, as Pearly-Thinaah are following in the footsteps of Vivian Hoo and Woon Khei Wei, who reached the final in 2011 and secured Malaysia’s only women’s doubles title at the tournament.
The historic victory is a testament to the steady progress of Pearly and Thinaah, who have consistently risen to the occasion on the international stage.
In Sunday’s final, Pearly and Thinaah will face South Korea’s world No. 29 pair, Kim Hye Jeong and Kong Hee Yong.
