Through a Twitter message by His Royal Highness Major General Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ), His Majesty offered the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium for use by the national squad.
The Bukit Jalil National Stadium, which is currently filled with a schedule of various events other than football, will be completely closed from March to make way for the new Zeon Zoysia grass.
Through a meeting session at Wisma FAM Training Ground, TMJ met with the President of FAM and Harimau Malaya players during the training session.
“After discussing with KBS Minister Hannah Yeoh regarding the maintenance of the SNBJ field that will start this March, I have met with the FAM President to share an ‘update’ & offer the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium for the Malaya Tigers to use while waiting for the SNBJ field to be ready.”
In addition to being used for any match, Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is also equipped with various facilities around Johor Bahru City such as a training center, medical center and accommodation for the players.
Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is a specific football stadium that can accommodate 40,000 supporters in addition to being equipped with complete facilities for supporters, media officials and others.
