Hakim Danish Targets More Impressive Result at Austria
National Moto3 rider Hakim Danish Ramli is determined to carry his San Marino momentum straight into this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, targeting an even stronger result at the Red Bull Ring after a spirited fightback at Misano last time out.
The 19-year-old arrives in Spielberg full of motivation, keen above all to avoid a repeat of the grid penalty that hampered his weekend in San Marino — a setback that, this time around, he'll be hoping to eliminate entirely in pursuit of a start from within the front pack.
Hakim Danish gave a timely reminder of his and his machine's potential at the San Marino GP, carving his way through 13 rivals from 25th on the grid to cross the line 12th — a result that showed he has genuine pace to run with the Moto3 frontrunners when circumstances allow.
That San Marino comeback now serves as the springboard heading into a very different kind of challenge at the Red Bull Ring, a circuit renowned for its long straights and technical, flowing corner sequences.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider, a protégé of former Malaysian Grand Prix racer Zulfahmi Khairuddin, is fully focused on nailing his machine setup as early as free practice, with the clear goal of qualifying automatically into Qualifying 2 (Q2) and avoiding the early knockout stage altogether.
His team will mirror that focus, dedicating each practice session to fine-tuning the bike and building Hakim Danish's confidence and rhythm ahead of qualifying — leaving no stone unturned in the search for peak performance across the weekend.
With eight rounds remaining in the 2026 season, Hakim Danish is eager to maximise every session from qualifying through to race day, as he looks to return to podium contention and continue strengthening his position in the world championship standings. His team has reiterated its full commitment to supporting him through preparations, determined to help him capitalise on every opportunity the Austrian weekend presents.
Reflecting on his familiarity with the Red Bull Ring, Hakim Danish said prior experience at the circuit gives him a head start, even if the demands of top-flight competition require constant adaptation.
"I think my previous experience racing at the Red Bull Ring has helped a lot, because I already have a good picture of the circuit's character and what needs attention," he said. "However, this time is different because we're racing in the Moto3 World Championship, and the racing is intense. So I need to adapt myself to the bike and the current race conditions."
The teenager also pointed to the confidence gained from his San Marino ride as a platform to build on this weekend. "After the race in Misano, I feel more confident and my compatibility with the bike has also improved. So I want to carry that momentum to Austria and try to get better preparation right from free practice."
Looking ahead to the weekend itself, Hakim Danish outlined a clear and disciplined approach. "My main focus is to get through every session consistently, avoid mistakes that could affect my grid position, and secure a good starting spot. I'll try to give my best in the race and collect as many points as possible to help improve my position in the championship."
Hakim Danish and the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi team head into practice at the Red Bull Ring this weekend, with the Malaysian rider aiming to translate a stronger qualifying position into another points-scoring — and potentially podium-challenging — result in Austria.
