Absolute Corse’s Ferrari set the pace in Official Practice 1 at Chang International Circuit where the top 17 cars were covered by one second.
Several Full Course Yellow periods punctuated the hour-long session, which possibly explained why Finn Gehrsitz’s leading time – 1m34.201s – was five tenths slower than Thursday’s testing benchmark.
Nevertheless, the top Silver-Am entry was still just about fast enough to beat series debutant Maro Engel who subsequently lapped Craft-Bamboo’s Mercedes-AMG 0.036s slower.
Another factory debutant, Jaxon Evans, was less than a tenth further back in Phantom Global Racing’s Porsche, while 2023 pole man Alessio Picariello (Absolute Racing) rounded out the top four.
Tomonobu Fujii’s best effort was briefly good enough for top spot until Gehrsitz found significant time moments later. However, D’station’s Aston Martin still finished the session fifth overall and one place clear of Triple Eight JMR’s Mercedes-AMG that had earlier rattled off three consecutive fastest times in Luca Stolz’s hands.
Climax Racing’s #22 and #66 Mercedes-AMGs were next up, and LMCorsa’s Ferrari topped the Silver class times in ninth overall. NK Racing’s Porsche rounded out the overall top 10, while AMAC’s Porsche led the Am class contenders thanks to Ben Porter.
