Gianni Infantino, President of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has confirmed Saudi Arabia as the official host of the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Saudi Arabia won the tournament’s hosting rights after Australia and another Asian country decided to forgo its bid to host the FIFA World Cup.
“Football unites the world like no other sport, and the FIFA World Cup is the perfect showcase for a message of unity and inclusion,” Infantino said today on Instagram.
He celebrated the fact that the next three editions of the World Cup will be hosted in five continents and 10 countries, “making football truly global.”
