First Instance Body (FIB) of the Malaysian Football League(MFL) has explained the approval of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to lift the player transfer ban for Kedah Darul Aman last Wednesday is not a guarantee for the team to remain in Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25.
This is because the existence of the team in the main division league will still depend on the approval of the national license which will be determined by the independent body, First Instance Body (FIB).
Previously, Kedah Darul Aman failed to settle salary arrears for the 2023 season before the first deadline on March 30, resulting in a deduction of three points and a fine of RM50,000.
In addition, If they have to settle the arrears before the second deadline at 5.00 pm, 20 April, if they don’t want their national license to be withdrawn, thus ineligible to play in Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25.
In this case, Fadhirul Shuhaimi, Astro Arena reporter said through in Nadi Weekend on Astro Arena TV today.
“Transfers, player registration, yes but the question at the moment is the national license.”
“Previously, FIB has announced that Kedah has to settle the salary arrears of last season by the deadline of April 20.”
“Salary has not been settled yet, then fined again, it’s like falling down the stairs.”
“So, will Kedah be able to settle all the salary arrears by the set deadline?”
“The MFL (Malaysian Football League) itself informed that if it fails, Kedah’s national license can be revoked and if that happens, there will only be 12 teams in Liga Super Malaysia this season,”
“As a sports observer, I don’t want it to happen.”
“It’s enough that we lost Sarawak, we lost Kelantan, Perlis, don’t we want to lose Kedah too?”
“But if it drags on and cannot be resolved, this is the last road the Kedah team has to face.”
