Ekanit Panya, a Thai midfielder of Urawa Red Diamonds, is the first Thai player in the FIFA Club World Cup history after having a name on the squad list to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 in Saudi Arabia.
Urawa Red Diamonds participate in this tournament by representing Asia as a champion of the AFC Champions League 2022. And Ekanit has joined with Urawa Red Diamonds since the second leg of the J.League on a loan contract from Muangthong United.
Urawa Red Diamonds will start in this tournament in the second round and face Club Leon, a club from Mexico, on 15 December 2023.
