DPMM FC officially began preparations for a new chapter ahead of the upcoming campaign after announcing the departure of five players following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
In an emotional farewell statement released by the club, DPMM FC confirmed that Jordan Rodrigues, Ibrahim Sulley, Christian Irobiso, Syafiq Ahmad and Fairuz Zakaria will not continue with the team moving forward.
The Brunei-based club paid tribute to the departing players for their commitment, sacrifices and contributions throughout the season, describing each of them as an important part of the DPMM FC family.
“Thank you Jordan Rodrigues, Ibrahim Sulley, Christian Irobiso, Syafiq Ahmad and Fairuz Zakaria for every moment, every fight and every memory you gave to the club this season,” the club said in its official statement.
“Your passion, commitment and dedication on and off the pitch will always be appreciated by the fans and everyone at DPMM FC.”
The departures mark the end of an important chapter for the squad, with several of the players playing key roles throughout a challenging and competitive 2025/26 campaign.
Among the names leaving the club, Malaysian forward Syafiq Ahmad drew particular attention after contributing valuable experience and attacking quality during his stint with the Brunei side. Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sulley and Nigerian striker Christian Irobiso were also influential figures in DPMM’s attacking setup throughout the season.
The club acknowledged that parting ways was never an easy process but stressed that the contributions made by the five players would remain part of DPMM FC’s journey and history.
“Thank you for wearing the badge with pride and giving your all for the team. The memories, sacrifices and unforgettable moments will always remain part of the club’s story,” the statement added.
DPMM FC also wished all departing players success in the next stage of their professional careers while reaffirming the strong bond shared between the club and its former players.
“Once DPMM FC family, always DPMM FC family.”
With the 2025/26 season now officially concluded, attention will turn towards rebuilding the squad as DPMM FC aim to strengthen ahead of the new campaign and continue competing strongly in regional football.
