Diogo Luis Santo, ex-player Johor Darul Ta’Zim, talked about the differences between the Thai League and Liga Super Malaysia, and he praises the Thai League as stronger in quality, especially about the field.
Diogo played in Thailand for 5 years with 2 clubs Buriram United and BG Pathum United, and played in Malaysia with Johor Darul Ta’Zim 2 times in 2019-2020 and 2023 before retiring at age 36 on December 2023.
“I think the Thai League is stronger than the Liga Super Malaysia because the Malaysia League may have 2-3 teams is a good team but that 2-3 teams not like Johor, this a big different” Diogo said with Think Curve.
“Also, they pitch ground; Johor has an amazing stadium, but maybe play outside (away game) sometime also can’t play football in Malaysia because of the condition of the pitch.”
“When I play with JDT, I also talk with the boss(TMJ), the boss also talks everything about this.”
“And now only have JDT, and Terengganu have a good condition pitch. And this a weak pointing of Malaysia League.”
“If say about Thailand, they have 2-3 grounds not so good but you can play, but in Malaysia somewhere is impossible to play”
