The Council of the Football Association of Thailand(FA Thailand) has a resolution to ‘suspended’ the resignation of Pol. Gen. Dr. Somyot Poompanmoung, President of the Football Association of Thailand because the council sees that it will cause damage to Thai football as a whole and may cause the Fédération Internationale de football association (FIFA) has banned
“Today, the board of directors Dares to have a consensus against the President’s wishes. The President will resign. but Council has resolutions for ‘suspended’ resignation.” Pol. Lt. Gen. Amnuay Nimmano, spokesperson of FA Thailand issued a press conference to the media after the meeting council
“Who said FIFA was not banned is not possible because has news released since the day of the meeting of the Olympic Committee Thailand. FIFA has information all about this, If there is a resignation will be the offense is considered, and FIFA can immediately ban it.”
“Another thing is that the president of the association will expire on 11 February 2024, which is only a few months away from his term. The council Therefore unanimously resolved to veto not to resign.”
