Top national pair Pearly TAN / M. THINAAH (5) faced a taxing three-set battle against Indonesia’s Febriana D. Kusuma and Meilysa T. Puspitasari. After a brilliant opening game, they couldn’t maintain the momentum, ultimately falling 22-20, 18-21, 12-21.
GOH Soon Huat / Shevon LAI (10) were unable to break down the formidable Chinese 8th seeds, Cheng Xing and Zhang Chi. The Malaysian veterans struggled to find their rhythm and were eliminated in straight sets, 15-21, 12-21
